Winner of the 2022 Lynn Slager Award
DERBY P1, Solms 1(J) , VGP II 284 , BTR Pass, V1 HDA2
Ava passed her Solms in her breed year earning a prize 1(J) making her the only DK in North America to do so as far back as I looked. Ava's combination of intelligence, cooperation and drive made it possible to complete her training at such a young age. Ava has extreme drive in the field, forest and water and is a perfect companion at home with our children. Ava's beauty is unmatched. She was the top female dog at the 2018 annual meeting with a V-1. When Ava passed her VGP she did it alongside her 10 month old daughter. Her daughter is the youngest dog of any breed in North America to pass the VGP. Her daughter's success is proof of her prepotency. The purpose of this breeding is to lock in and amplify these traits. Jim Shupe
Gator came to us at 5 1/2 months. Biddability and desire to please and work, paired with a unique and exceptional nose allowed him to become the hardest-tested dog in the NADKC and probably all JGHV-affiliated clubs in North America in 2020: Two Solms 1, highest scoring Solms dog awarded, two passed VGPs (288 and 298) both with overnight track by the age of 17 months,188 HZP at a VDD-test (12 in search behind duck) under different judges earned him three 4-hs in addition (nose, search without duck, search). He earned his sharpness at 7 months. In his first proper season since testing he has hunted Alabama, South Dakota and Indiana and proven his exceptional quality time and time again in all circumstances and on all huntable game. He is a pleasant companion dog in everyday life and extremely social, living around 3-4 other dogs in the same household, livestock and with cats in the house. His athleticism and speed are second to none! Timm Gudehus
